Kara and Nick’s wedding took place at one of my favorite ceremony spots; a turn of the century estate overlooking beautiful Chippewa lake. The Oaks Lakeside was completed in 1914 (known then as Five Oaks) and became a standard for hospitality and gracious living, along with playing host to the rich and famous of the day.
Kara and Nick’s choice of a 40’s couture theme was great, complete with band members wearing zoot suits. Kara looked beautiful in her wedding dress and coiffure. We had to dodge a few raindrops for the ceremony, but not long after the ceremony finished, the skies cleared and created a beautiful sunset over the lake.

Gorgeous pics! I like all of the still lifes the photographer did in the beginning (creative!), but they do not compare to the pics of you and Nicholas! I particularly enjoyed the pics of you and Nick with the water in the background. You were both glowing!!!! You were a beautiful bride and you and Nick have a great life to look forward to. I am proud to be your mother. Despite the rain, it was still the most memorable wedding ceremony I will ever experience–creative, moving, beautiful and great fun! People will never forget it. Kara & Nick, Uncle Chuck and I had a great time at your wedding. The music and food was wonderful. Kara, you looked absolutely gorgeous in your wedding dress and your hair was just beautiful! Hope you both are having the time of your life in Maine!
